World Traditional Medicine Patent Database (WTMPD)

  The WTMPD, produced by East Linden, is the world's first traditional medicine patent database with integration of multinational patent sources. It is a valuable information resource in terms of providing sophisticated search capabilities and analytical tools for global research academies and enterprises in the field of traditional medicine research and drug development. .

1. The Brief Introduction to the WTMPD

  The history of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can be traced back to almost 5000 years ago.The recorded history is about 2000 years.With such a long history of TCM, China has accumulated a great deal of valuable TCM formulas and formed a unique system for treatment by TCM. This vast repository of knowledge has played an important role in establishing the WTMPD.

  In March 2003, the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) established the world's first deep-indexed China Traditional Chinese Medicine Patent Database. The new database proved a great success and won many plaudits from the World Intellectual Property Office. East Linden, with the authorization of SIPO, has constructed the English version of the database that has been sent to European Patent Office (EPO) for trial use.

  With many valuable experiences gained in this process, along with further technological advances, East Linden is currently constructing a bilingual (English and Chinese) deep-indexed World Traditional Medicine (WTM) Patent Database. The database has following features and benefits:
